This introductory fundraising workshop, targeted at new United Way staff, will provide an overview of all the various components of campaigning within the United Way system. Everything you wanted to know about running a United Way campaign but were afraid to ask.

- How to conduct the campaign, including making the case and key volunteer roles

In this information age, there is data all around us. Some of it is good data, some of it is useful data, some of it is just data. This session will address how United Ways have used data in the Community Impact processes to both determine what their focus would be and to report to the community the impact which has been made through United Way. Various models such as the United Way State of Caring Index, Quality of Life Indexes, Report Cards, etc. will be used to illustrate how to use the data that surrounds us effectively.
Session Outcomes – Knowledge of:
- How to assess the data around you, what does it tell you, is it useful to you
- How to interpret data for the public consumption
- What measurement tools exist
- How to use data in formulating and supporting strategic solutions
- How to use data to assess how your community is doing and what impact is being made

This is an important juncture in the community impact process. There are various models that may be used.
