Welcome
Navigating today’s system of health and human services is a perilous task for many Ohio communities and their residents. Recognizing that government alone cannot meet increasingly complex human service challenges, communities large and small have come to rely upon local, volunteer-driven United Ways and their agencies as the most highly regarded resource for human service funding. As experts at community building through collaboration, local United Ways have consistently demonstrated their effectiveness in identifying critical issues and setting outcomes; convening community leaders; partnering with government, labor, business and other resources; raising funds; and delivering a wide variety of human services.
It is the role of Ohio United Way to add value to the work of local United Ways. By serving as advocates and public policy representatives on a statewide basis, providing research, data and support services to increase their efficiency, and fostering public/private partnerships, Ohio United Way extends the impact of the local United Way in your community.
In charting our own course for the new millennium–the most significant action taken by our board in 1999–we have also provided a compass to these important local organizations in your city, and to the human services field in general. We’re pleased to share with you our Mission, our Vision the core values that we have chosen to steer us to future success.
